Three challenges met
in a TV commercial for a local funeral service
The spots had to be inexpensive, but that wasn't all. The owner of Becker Ritter Funeral Home put top
priority on capturing the beauty of his facility, a spacious complex of large, hard-to-light rooms. He also
insisted on performing in his own commercials speaking directly to camera, a tough task even for
a professional actor.
To cut costs, I wrote, produced and edited a set of three spots. Our only luxury was a jib arm rental,
which allowed us to capture large expanses with graceful moves.
